Ponder....

Hi Folks,

Yup, a long weekend thanks to Christmas. If you are celebrating Christmas, hey hope it went really well.

Three more days to go till 2010 hit our doors. Are you ready for it? Well u better since it is always nice to start a new year with list of things you wanna do to improve or to do better.

Washington Redskins:
Well, losing season. They suck totally and lose it to the Cowboys. Looking forward to nex season and hopefully this time it'll be for the better.

Virginia Tech Hokies:
Yes they are in one of the Bowl games and hope they will strike it good! Go Hokies!

Labuan:
Had my weekend break on this beautiful and peaceful island. Next time hope to share some pics. If you are talking about relaxation, Labuan is definitely the place for you. Interestingly, if you are a History Buff, this was one of the sights of WWII when the Alllied troops (Australian, US, British) attacked the Japanense to start their conquest and retake of South East Asia. Didn't know that the famous US General, Douglas MacArthur visited the island after the battle before going off to the Philippines. Shopping, just okay.

Downright Sucks!

Hey folks,

It is really a disbelief that we can lose our jet engine. No doubt action has been taken on the military personnel involved in this mess, but it seems the safety and security of our resources including equipment maybe at stake or compromise or basically exposed to known or unknown elements. This is just an engine worth millions of taxpayers money. Imagine if our hardware or Sukhoi or Battle Tank went missing! Really dangerous scenario.
It is assuring that the Government have addressed the matter and tighten the process and hope that this is the first and last incident........hopefully...

11 DAYs and counting...

Hey Folks,

Yes, welcome back.

Yup, we are just less than 2 weeks to go till 2010 hit our shores.

Bravo to the Malaysian Football Team and rest

Hey, the boyz managed to pull it through and they did it. I didn't get the chance to watch the game, but heard it on radio. Man! It was the best game ever heard on radio with the play-by-play. 1-0 is good enough for us to claim the gold and that what matters. It is our first Gold medal since 1989. Overall, we got 4th place so that is still good for us. Be proud, Be Malaysian!

Washington Redskins: Changing of the Guard

Well, it is a losing season for the Skins. So doesn't really make any difference except for pride and glory to win the rest of the games and close the dreadful and depressing football season. Welcoming news is that they have a new GM, Bruce Allen. Personally, it is a move by the Skins to show that they need majorly improvement including the Management side, but again it is too early to tell. Despite that Bruce Allen was the son of a Legendary Coach, he still need to prove to the fans that he is the man going take the Skins back on track.

Bung, Bung

Shock man, after all the repeated denials finally it is confirmed that this Politician is married to an actress. It is amazing, but whenever a denial is announced in regards to an allegation, it is true after all. I maybe generalising this, but again look back at many situation such as Tiger Woods, etc....surely and truly it became a truth. Moral of the story, a denial is just an excuse to divert the attention until it comes out of the horses' mouth!

Their first Convention

After many, many years finally the Opposition have a managed to organize their first ever convention. PAS, PKR, and DAP, hand in hand promising to do their best and achieve their goal of capturing Putrajaya. Well, congrats' to them for having this convention, but how peristent are the Opposition to fight for their goals. Talk is easy, but implementation is another story altogether. Evidently, agree or disagree, but the truth is found in the states that is under their umbrella (Selangor, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan). Personally, the voters have the power and not the Pakatan Rakyat nor Barisan Nasional. We have the power to determine who gets to govern and administer the country and who gets booted out. The election in 2008 prove to be the detrimental point in the nation's history that voters really strut that voting power and caused shocking defeat of some well known politician.

NKRAs

The government finally released the NKRA. Didn't really get the chance to view it, but looking at the news it is the government's promise and key target to the rakyat. We will have to wait and see how it is going to be implemented since this is supposed to benefit everybody regardless of race, colour, religion, etc.

Can WE do it?

Hey guys,

Yup at 5:45pm today, Malaysia football team is in the Final and it is a rematch with Vietman.
Last match, we lost 1-3. Can the boys do it? Well if they maintain the same fighting spirit when they play against Thailand and Laos, it is possible for them to beat Vietnam. Gotta admit, Vietnam is a strong team, so tough game. Wait n See.

Hear it for the Boys!

Hey guys,

Yes, we won the semis and now for the first time since 1989, Malaysia is in the finals of the SEA Games football match and it is a rematch with Vietnam. Tough game, but hey in the name of never die atitude and love of the country, take it away boys! Bring that long awaited Gold medal that we've been yearning for such a long time.

Washington Redskins finally won. Cool, well despite the losing season, hey they still manage to win a game.

"First Cut is the Deepest"

Hey folks,

Sunday, near to a close of long weekend. But hey next weekend and the weekend after, more long weekends to come thanks to Awal Muharram (Islamic New Year), Christmas, and New Year.

Tiger Woods:

Well, he screwed up big time. The whole world is in shock and disbelief. Well u got to admit his decision to take a break from golf is a wise thing to do. He needs to build that broken bridge with his wife and kids. Feeling sympathy with his wife as well especially going through one of the most toughest ordeal in life when the hubby is 'caught'. Tiger's break from golf need not hava time duration or some sort, what he needs to do now is go back to his family. That is what concern most.

NFL: Washington Redskins
2009 is a losing year for the Skins. Expect major changes for the 2010 season, but the question is whether Jim Zorn will remain as the Head Coach and that is everybody's guess.

Hokies:
Gotta feel good, the Hokies are in one of the Bowl games. Meeting Tennessee. A tough game, but hopefully they win that game. Darn will miss that game!

Minister's KPIs:
Now for the first time, the Malaysian ministers performance are based on the KPIs. That is a first for the government. All this while, KPIs is practised in the private sector. The question is if a Minister is getting bad review of this KPIs, does that mean he or she has to go? We will find out and see.

Accident in Alor Setar and Kota Bharu:
A tragedy indeed!
The first in Alor Setar, Kedah involved a newly wed bridegroom, his parents, and friend when their car hit a buss head-on due to a tire burst. As for the bride, my condolense to her and it is tough.
The second is in KB Mall, Kelantan where a car went out of control and crash inside the mall! Two lives were lost. Really sad about this. How life can be so short and unpredictable.

The Malaysian Football Team in SEA Games:
They finally found some winning formula to beat Thailand and get to be in the semis and meeting Laos. The match against Laos is a tough game consider Laos have the home crowd and homefield advantage. Hopefully, our Malaysian team will pull it through. Stay focus Boys!

DYMM Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharifuddin. Allah Lanjutkan usia Tuanku! Daulat Tuanku!

Welcoming news, Malaysia Football (soccer) team is in the semis of the SEA Games in Laos. They beat Thailand which is a powerhouse team in the region, 2 to 1. They will be fighting Laos in the Semis. Go Malaysia!

This Day in History!

Hi Folks,

Today, the 8th December......well if we can rewind back the time machine that was the first time Malaysia (at that time Malaya) was first hit by the World War II event. The Japanese troops were landing in Kota Bharu, Kelantan and thus began the Japanese campaign on Malaya!
Well just like other countries, we were finally liberated by the Britisn in September 1945......and 12 years later Malaya became a nation.

'A Long December'

Hey guys,

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Well talk about December, it is fast moving! Imagine starting this Friday and the next 2 Fridays, we are off thanks to the public holidays in Malaysia. Three long weekends to enjoy....

Bukit Antarabangsa Tragedy:
Our hearts goes out to the victims who lost their love ones. It was a terrible tragedy that shook us up. It is a good thing that the Cabinet have decided to discose the report to the public to ensure transparency in the whole matter. The conclusion was that the landslide at Bukit Antarabangsa was result of 'damaged drainage system and leaking pipes'.
Hope this serves as a invaluable lesson to all of us. Development is good, but let us be responsible for it. Proper study must be made before any major projects especially on the slope or hillside or mountainside needs to be implemented. Not an anti-development person, but again let us use all resources before anything can be start or implement. We can't afford as a country to go through this ordeal and never learned from our mistakes. Now with the rainy season, landslide is on the radar.

Tiger Woods:
The man of Golf or the 'Jack Nickaus' of our time got himself in trouble wiz his wife. Well put it this Tiger, *#%t happens, but again we are human beings so we live and we learn from our past mistakes. Just don't do it for the second time, otherwise something is definitely not right.

Washington Redskins/VT Hokies:
Darn it, they lost last weekend and yesterday.....darn, oh well it is a losing record for the Skins this year. Not much to say for now.
Yup, my college team, the Hokies whack the Virginia Cavaliers. Hey they are in the Top 15 and surely on the way to one of the Bowl games.

Malaysian Football Team at Sea Games in Laos:
Here we go again, after a huge win against Timor Leste, we lost to Vietnam 1 - 3. Darn! That sucks, always wonder what is not right with our Boys compare to the veterans of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Football back then was something and u can even memorise the name of the players. For this team, it was an under 23 team, well it is a good exposure, but again a very important game that they can't afford to lose. Next, they'll meet Cambodia and later Thailand, tough games for the boys.

YES, YES, YES:
YES, the year end sale campaign is on. All about cheap and interesting sales in the country. This is to get both domestic and international shoppers to spend and shop like mad. Definitely gives good revenue to the business folks. Again, as consumers be SMART when you shop, the prices may look simply irresistible, but ask a lot of questions to the shoppers in terms of quality, customer services, and etc. Remember, we are the CONSUMERs, it is a our basic right to shop SMART and lose a thing.

Say what.....GST?!

Hey folks,

Welcome back.

Yup, 28 days till the end of 2009.

2009 what a year...well will save my thots for that later.

GST:

The government is planning/proposing to implement the GST which was never been done before. Well, before implementation, just being an average Malaysian, it is best all studies and awareness of GST needs to be initiated before anything it is going to be tabled at the Parliament for the benefit of all Malaysians.

In all fairness, nowadays from major corporate companies to an average 'Joe', everyone is concern about cost and how much it may impact in the future.

Being a Malaysian, we know that the government will implement policies in order to benefit for the future well being of this country, but again it is important that all feedbacks and accounts of GST is taken into consideration first.

First of all, what is GST to begin with? Personally from my understanding it is a special kind of tax. It stands for 'general sales tax'. Yup, so what is that again...? In English... Officially it is,
'a tax on consumer spending collected in stages on business transactions and imports when goods change hands or services are performed.'

Oh well as far as I'm concerned it is a special tax. The government did mentioned in the media that with the GST, it will reduce the nation's deficit. No doubt, it is good to see that the government is planning to reduce the deficit (finally), but again they must go to the cities, country-side, urban areas, etc and informed the public what or how the GST is really is and the impact to all of us. Time is running short thanks to the information superhighway such as the internet, etc. so better act now then too late.

Not surpisingly, the Pakatan Rakyat is already forming a special team to counter this GST initiative by the government. For sure this will become one of the hottest issues that will be used by PR for the future elections to come.

We shall wait n see n think...

Melaka Zoo!

Sights of the Melaka Zoo!

Spelling error, refer above....

The Banteng, biting time!

I hate snakes.................eeeeee.....

Hey guys,

Just wanna share a bit about the 'Cuti-Cuti Malaysia thingy. Well it is all about holidaying in Malaysia.
Well for a start took my family to the Melaka Zoo.
It is about close to 2 hours drive especially if one takes the PLUS highway (E2) southbound coming from Putrajaya.
The zoo is located roughly 2 km from the toll plaza (Ayer Keroh). Coming from the plaza, the zoo is located on the left side. Parking is RM 2 per entry. For adults, the entrance is RM7/person. Children, can't remember ooops.
What is different about this zoo is that the setting and the animal shelter is built in such a way like their natural habitat.
The zoo is cool especially if one loves animal just like my family. Interestingly from my observation the animals that is found in this zoo and not in Zoo Negara (National Zoo) is the red panda and banteng.
Of course, Zoo Negara is still the largest zoo in the country.
In terms of F&B, it is okay plus there is a small well known fast food outlet located over there.
The toilet is well nothing to shout about unfortunately cos it definitely needs a huge make over or something.
Overall the Melaka Zoo is definitely a place you can take your family for cool time. If you are the type who love animals, hey it is definitely worth the trip to check the zoo out. Being a Malaysian, surely it is cool to visit interesting places in the country like this zoo. If you are not Malaysian, hey u can always start planning your trip to the country.

"A Long December.."

Greetings!

Hope all is well. Yup, we are coming close to the end of 2009. One more month to go people! If your resolution is still behind, you still have another a month to go to get it done.

American Football:
My favorite team, Washington Redskins, they done it again! Yup, lose to the Dallas Cowboys and it is pretty close game. If only the kicker kicked the field goal, they would have beaten the Cowboys by 6 points. Urrrgggh....no way JOSE they'll be in the playoff.....!
On a lighter note, my college, VT Hokies won! They are surely bound for another Bowl game. Go HOKIES!

Chin Peng:
Well, he is now back on the headlines. Finally, he admitted and is apologetic to all the victims and those who have suffered during the Communist Emergency from 1948 to 1960 and 1969 to 1989.
Folks, if you don't know him, he was the mastermind behind the whole communist insurgency in Malaysia. He was hoping to change Malaysia into a communist country via warfare. Luckily at that time, the Father of Malaysia, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman was successful in getting independence for Malaysia (at that time was known as Malaya) from the British in 1957 through peaceful means.
The issue now is Chin Peng wanted to come back to Malaysia and settle down for good, well latest is the highest court of the country is not allowing him back since he cannot prove his citizenship.
Personally, of course we can go with 'forgive and forget' and 'past is past', but for Chin Peng is an exception, he was the person responsible for creating chaos, destruction, and mayhem to Malaysia. Wives became widow, children became orphan, homes became ruin, basically, there is nothing really good out of him. Thousands of lives were gone and not spared, the economy and infrastructure were damaged and destroyed. Imagine, Malaysians (Malaysans) at that time were living in fear.
I think it is best he remain where he is (Thailand) and not come back or else it will just deepen further the wound that he had already created.
This is not the subject of fairness, but actually it is about justice especially for the victims and those who have fought hard to protect and preserve Malaysia's sovereignty, security, and stability.

Bahasa Malaysia:
Here we go again, the reminder of the status of Bahasa Malaysia based from last week's paper. My thoughts; Yes, it is our national language so preserve it. It is in the constitution of the country, then what the fuss. "Cintailah Bahasa Kebangsaan Kita, Marilah Amalkan Ramai-Ramai, Bahasalah menyatu padukan kita semua..."
It doesn't meant that if one masters in English or other languages, then Bahasa Malaysia is totally neglected. Come on, Bahasa Malaysia is still our national language and that is already a part of our living heritage.
Despite our different racial background and customs, Bahasa Malaysia is what unite us. It is our 'lingua franca' to begin with since the times of the Melaka Empire!

monday, monday

American Football:

Yes!

The Washington Redskins finally won a game....Now their record is 3 wins and 6 losses. It'll take a miracle for them to go to the playoff provided that they win all the games and Dallas Cowboyz, NY Giants, Philadelphia Eagles lose some games.... Well at least they get their act together and stunned the Denver Broncos. The next game for the 'skins is a tough one, Dallas Cowboyz.... All the best to them.

VT Hokies, okay they won some games and hopefully not losing anymore. Their back into the Top 20 and hope it prevails that way.

Well folks if you are huge fan of American Football, hope you can understand what I mean. Otherwise, take some time to watch the game on ESPN. It is fun!

Obama and APEC:

The President of the USA was here, well not exactly he was just across the causeway for barely 1 day. The APEC was the highlight over the weekend and as usual the leaders from the Asia-Pacific region, plus USA, Australia, New Zealand, and some Latin American countries. They'll come together and talk about the helping the economy and stuff, but does it really materialize if you are just an average 'Joe'. I mean not being negative, but think about it no matter how much the 'media' impact that major conferences does, at the end of the day how can an average person with a not so high income really understand or care about especially with inflation all around us.
Thanks to globalization and etc, the poor gets poorer and the rich gets richer and more powerful...really depend. Nowadays for most citizen or voter, all we care is not just simply; talk and rhetoric, but walk the talk!

Weather:

Yes, weather has been rainy, but last night was a break because you actually see the night sky (stars!). Today, cloudy again so spells rain maybe on the way. One thing for sure the haze is gone, the night is cool, but unfortunately for some, flood! Our hearts goes to those victims of flood who suffers especially losing their property and home and in some cases, their loved ones.

Movie Review: 2012

Hey guys,

Hope u had a good weekend. Mine? well surely u can figure it out by now, yes saw the movie, 2012.

Well, here is my review of the movie. My own rating system, 1 to 5. 5 means darn good, while 1 is horribly poor

Casting: 3.5

Despite the strong casting with John Cusack, Danny Glover, and Woody Harrelson, somehow despite the panicking and stuff, but they never really looked scared to death or have this 'fear' look.

Storyline: 4

As expected, natural disaster story. Unlike 'Deep Impact' and 'Armageddon', this got nothing to do with any space object hitting Earth. It got to do with some solar energy that became too strong that it affected the Earth causing earthquake, tsunami, volcanic eruptions which is really a major major catastrophe.

Graphics/Special Effects: 5

Excellent! Look so freakin' real.

Overall: 4

Definitely go and watch it.

Moral of the story from 2012:

Well if you watch it, this is something that may apply or think about in real life

1. The weak will not be saved and the strong (rich, powerful, influential, smart-ass) will be saved.

2. No matter how much wanna save mankind, there will always be a 'devil advocate' amongst us.

3. The Paris Tunnel incident in the movie mentioned later that it was a whole global conspiracy by the US or some Powers to shut the mouth of 'those' who tried to break the secret that the Earth is heading for doom. Now this makes you ponder about the Princess Diana accident in the Paris Tunnel, was it really caused by the paparazzi or poor driving by the driver, or careless accident, or probably someone just wanna kill Princess Diana (and Dodi AlFayed) badly?

4. Life is short and unpredictable so live it to the fullest.

5. Pray a lot for the future of mankind. Whether u are a Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Jews, or whatever religion, the universal thing to do is PRAY hard.

6. Ensure that as a citizen of your respective country or nation that the government is open and not keeping secrets.

Okay guys, go and watch while the movie is still on the cinema. Piracy copy? Better watch original, worth it!

"...Angkat kain jemuran, hujan dah turun..."

Hey guys,

Yup, the beginning of the rainy season making its presence felt right now in Malaysia. Flooding is already making the news especially in states of Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah. Not to mention, landslide...

Malaysia Cup:
Congrats' to Negri Sembilan for an outstanding play and being the underdog. Kelantan, thought they would win but lost the game well look at how they play.

NFL/American Football:
My favorite team, Washington Redskins.....one word....SUCK. Don't know what exactly is not right with them since couldn't watch the game. By the look of it, forget about this team making into the playoff.

NCAA/College Football:
Hokies, my VT team. Well at one point they were in the top 5, but lost some important games.. So they are just now in the Top 25, well hopefully they'll manage back to the Top 20 and get into some Bowl games.

Landslide:
Last week, a major landslide occurred at the jalan persekutuan 1 (jln rawang-ipoh stretch) right after the Selayang. Amazingly, no body was hurt. Bad news, it is still a landslide and it occurred near the housing area which was formerly JUNGLE. It seems in the name of DEVELOPMENT, we just still can't be bothered about the recent past events that occurred when it comes to landslide. Not a anti-Development person, but whatever it is we must develop with CARE and UTMOST and not just develop a land for the sake of building it. If we are kind to Mother Nature, then it will be good all the way. If we are nasty and not taking into consideration the environmental factors, then landslide is definitely in the book. We must ACT fast before the next landslide incident may result in loss of lives which is the last thing in our mind.

For the future...Single Stream School

Dear guys,

My second write-up relating to the single stream school.

Today's paper highlighted of former PM, Tun Dr Mahathir view point of the need to have a single stream school. Of course this idea was first proposed by Tan Sri Dr Khoo Kay Kim.

Think of it why the need to have various type of schools. If we really want to start thinking of being Malaysian, then let us do a way with vernacular type schools in this country. Taking away vernacular schools doesn't mean one can't still speak his or her mother tongue.

Imagine with a single stream school, our children and grand children will not only learn and speak Bahasa Malaysia and English, but also an opportunity for them to learn other languanges such as Mandarin, Tamil, Kadazan, etc via special language classes.

Just look at countries like Thailand, they do have multi-ethnic groups and but go to a common school. Even public schools in the US, despite that English is not the OFFICIAL language, but the school is all taught in English and everybody speaks English. Nowadays not all American have to be white, there is Blacks, Filipino, Mexican, Japanese, Korean, etc...

Single stream school doesn't necessarily mean that you are BN or PR or whatever, it is about unifying people with a common identity, we are MALAYSIAN. It is best to start now, slow, gradually, eventually rather than never.

Halloween!

Hey guys,

Happy Halloween! Yup that is what the end of October is famous for every year. People will be wearing all sorts of costume and scare the hell out of you. Well it is actually time to really show how awesome one's costume really is.
Not only that if you are in the US or some countries that does it, you go 'trick or treat'. Yes, that is where the kids will wearing their Halloween costume and go house to house seeking for sweets and candies, but the trick is one must say 'trick or treat'. I've done that before but, that was like back in the Philippines. Cool to get lots of candies, but again the end result too much sweets bad for the teeth if one doesn't brush his teeth!
In Malaysia, Halloween is celebrated on a minor scale based from my observation. Of course there will be parties and stuff....
Frankly, do you ever have a 'supernatural' experience in your life time? YES, I do...
Below is some that I can still recap....
1. I was walking back to my apartment (in the US) and suddenly from nowhere saw this fireball or something like that just zooming across me. Really weird. The funny thing is did saw that in Malaysia like after dawn before the sunrise when I was about to get the newspaper and saw exactly the same thing. Freaky indeed!

2. Some freaking thing was following both my wife and I after we were visiting a friend's place. In the beginning, thought it was probably some animal sound since our friend's place was located near the jungle/forest. It start getting terrifying when this 'thing' which we cudn't see just start following us and making this funny sound. Really freaked us out. Luckily it didn't follow us to our car, but still sort of give u this goosebump!

3. Mysterious knock outside my bedroom door. Again, like some knock on the door and at that time both my wife and I were ready to go to bed. Really freaky cos when I open the door, simply no one. At that time my mother-in-law and my son was sleeping in another room.

4. Another one was one early morning right before the Subuh prayers, came down the stairs doing towards the kitchen and thought saw this 'thing' or 'apparition' standing near the fridge. As soon as I on the light, it disappear! Freak me out!

5. Finally, I saw this 'black apparition' going up the stairs (at home). That time my wife was pregnant and we came back pretty late night from somwhere. It was like floating and going up the stairs and guess disappear. Hell freaky!

Oh well, that is all I can think of for now. If u have your 'supernatural' experience...hey share it...

Thoisday, TGIF!!!

Yo peeps,

Back again, Thursday as we speak Malaysian time.

Well just wanna share some thots...

Washington Redskins:

There they go again, lost the damn game to Eagles despite playing at homefield. Well it is a good thing they have a 'bye' week this weekend, so definitely time for the team to reflect back and recover from all the tough loses.

Collapse of suspension bridge at Kampar, Perak:

Condolence to the families. Such a terrible tragedy. Well for this case, it has to be take investigated from all angles. Can't simply blame the government since the bridge was upgraded. What important now is not politicizing the issue. Now is time for the rakyat to understand the truth and evidence and conclusion.

Single Stream Schools:

This is the way it should be if we wanna see the Bangsa Malaysia concept come into being. This got nothing to do with racism or anything that is negative in nature at all. Simply if we want to be a country that is developed not just in terms of infrastructure, but also the mind, this is the chance to do so. Wiz the 1Malaysia concept or whatever concept it maybe, then let us implement it gradually then not at all. Just look at countries like Thailand, no doubt they have other multi-ethnic racial group, but they all go to a common school. Think of the future not the past in order for us to be on par with the other powerful economic powers.

Toosday!

Yo guys,

End of the day, waiting for Wednesday, then Thursday, Friday, Weekend... Gosh, don't u just have the same feeling each time every week.

U know just wanna list out stuff or things that simply annoy the heck out of me. Surely u may have the same experience or thoughts.

1. Driving and not signaling to make a turn (Urrgggh.....these drivers deserve to be in the concentration camp!)

2. Cutting queue at the toll plaza without even considering signaling or show a hand gesture.

3. When someone who doesn't know you and calls you "Hello, Hello..." (HELLO! this is not a phone conversation)

4. Using the toilet and not flushing!!! (They should be imprisoned!)

5. Burping or Belching in the public (so annoying)

6. Double parking unnecessarily or necessarily

7. Parking at no parking zone and causing inconvenience to other drivers

8. Reversing the car when making a wrong exit from the highway (Damn, this is really dangerous because it does affect incoming traffic)

9. Interrupting into someone's discussion or conversation

10. Litter Bugs! Yes simply throwing or littering stuff out of the car! (Gosh, if only I have my bow and arrow)

That is all I can think of for now.

November Rain!

Hey Guys,

Here we are at the final week of October and next weekend is November. 2009 is flying fast and fast. Hope you got your new year's resolution done, if not well 2 more months to go.

Budget 10:

New budget under the PM Najib, well looks good, but let see how it will be implemented. No doubt we are right now in a very critical phase of the global economic crisis so whatever we do it is either do or die....well not die in a literal fashion of course.

VT Hokies

College Football in the States is one of the important highlights of sports in the US. Well, as an avid fan of the Hokies, darn it...sucks they lose to Georgia Tech and not only that they are out of the top 5! Hell man!

Washington Redskins

My favorite football team till today. Been pretty loyal, ups and downs, but still standing strong with them. Hopefully they'll kick some butts at those Eagles.

Sad note,
Condolence to the family if you read the papers recently about some mad dude pour acid on his wife and daughter, resulting wife died and daughter is blind permanently. Well, the good side is he is under arrest by the cops so let justice serve on this maniac!

The Week it was...

Hey guys,

Man it is already 13 days till we hit November and just completed the second last weekend of October. Hope your weekend was a booming one, mine well typical lazing around kinda weekend.

Washington Redskins:

Yup am an avid fan of this NFL team, but again they totally sucked. They lose to another team that really had a winless record till yesterday. Imagine how many years with the change in the coaching, players, etc. it is just not getting any better. Frankly, the best years of the Skins were 1991-92. That time they just simply kicked butts. Whatever it is they surely they need to do a major overhaul now that they are losing badly. Didn't get the chance to watch their games, but for sure by the look of things from the net, they are a in dip shit! (excuse my French!).

'WALK THE TALK' - UMNO

Well, definitely a change for this party. Now after a lot of talk and speeches and delegates got to vote, it is SHOWTIME! Yes, no more time to wait or postpone, UMNO must prove to the grassroots and the mass population that it is seriously on the path to change. Change maybe painful or painless depending on how badly the first few phase will turn out to be. One thing for sure if this change proves to be successful, then the path of UMNO maybe a just the light at the end of the tunnel and could be the party of the 21st century. Now, all eyes and ears will be monitoring the party development and for sure corruption is right now the enemy number 1 that must be stopped at all cost regardless the situation. There is no turning back otherwise it'll just be another white elephant for the party which is the last thing we wanna hear.

Inflight Service Open House

Yup, we've just completed the second Inflight Services Open house on 15 October. Many people from various departments and even vendors attended this auspicious event. Being the host, all the Inflight Services staff had to wear the national costume. It was certainly sweet cos it is chance for us to display our fashion and style. Bump into few old staff and of course frankly they haven't really change a bit (body-wise!). For me darn! been talking of shedding the pounds, it is surely a hard battle for now but still not giving up. Hope to put some pictures of the event very soon. Be on the look out for that.

Okay, that is all for now till again put your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars! Some say...

Immigration encounter at Los Angeles

Hi guys

Just to share, well correct me if I am wrong, but normally whenever you enter the USA, there is always this funny feeling in your stomache or this unsettle feeling as to whether you are going to be okay or not or am I going to be stuck at the immigration.

Talking about the immigration people at the Los Angeles Airport. Despite that one have already a valid US visa, but still u can be held for whatever unknown reason.

In my last trip to the US, thank god, it happen for the better! Yes, the immigration guy actually greeted me and my wife. Ask not much questions, just told me that my stay in the US is short and then in less 5 minutes, we are on the way out to the baggage claim area. Unbeliveable, he is friendly and not creating that so called 'I am the Boss' attitude. Can't remember his name, but he is the first nicest immigration official that i've bumped into. Hope to meet him again or anyone similar to this guy's good professionalism and welcome attitude.

"Mr Lucky"

Hey guys,

Album review; yup was in the US and bought myself the latest Chris Isaak album called, Mr Lucky.

Honestly, it is the typical Chris Isaak type of music. If u are familiar with Chris Isaak, his sound is the guitar strumming melody with broken hearts lyrics that makes u feel happy and feel good about still alive and well on earth!

I've been a Chris Isaak fan since his single, "wicked game". He is definitely a cross between an Elvis and Roy Orbison. Both stars are legends in the rock n roll world!

Anyway, coming back to the album, the sound is smooth and down to earth. One thing that is a first is that one of the tracks (not sure which one) has orchestra backing in the music. Thought that is a first for Chris Isaak.

If you are a Chris Isaak fan, grab it quick. If you are not, recommend that you listen to his early albums and get to know his type of music. His music is the type either u can listen while u drive on the freeway at a steady speed of 90km/h or just lazing at the beach and enjoying the sights and sounds of the surroundings. Personally, you never feel angry listening to his music!

Uncharted Territory for UMNO

Hey Guys,

Now on politics, yes UMNO is making the headlines once again. After a big win at Bagan Pinang, the mood is swinging high especially with the delegates combing the PWTC to make important votes in order to change certain clause or condition in the UMNO constitution. By this is really one of the pinnacle time for UMNO in light of the 12th General Election that totally in the words of Elvis Presley, "All Shook Up" the once feared and loved Barisan Nasional.

It is high time that UMNO must undergo changes for the better of the country. In view of today's and tomorrow's times, the trend is changing. People are becoming more open and understanding and accountability is or are the words of the day. The rakyat are no longer fools of the ever dominated government machinery of the daily tv news or government-like propaganda programs that will perhaps get to vote for them. Think twice or thrice, the rakyat is no longer fooled by this. With the internet, people are given the freedom to explore and share and enrich all sort of information and experience. From here, the people or the rakyat in general can now make important decisions or say personal findings of important issues that may affect his or her life be it in the country or the world.

Okay, coming back to the up-coming UMNO special general assembly, yes it is 'now or never' for UMNO to embark on this major radicalism and reformation. UMNO (even Barisan Nasional) as a whole can no longer apply the 20th century concept of assuming what the rakyat or people wants, but must ACT actively and diligently and act proActively to the current scenario of the country and the world today. It must portray just like what was mentiond by the PM Dato Seri Najib and DPM Tan Sri Muhyiddin, change. Yes, the word change have occurred over and over since the dawn of Man; from the reformation of Soviet Union via Glasnost and Perestroika to the everything that we see today.

For UMNO to change and to be the party of the 21st century, it is vital that it is not just the party of security for Malays and other Bumis, but also to Malaysians as a whole. Bear in mind, the major most constituents are the general public and the so-called silent majority. They will decide who is to be the next government in power.

So people, for the next 3 days, is where UMNO will be making certain important changes that will surely have important implication and affect to the country as a whole. For UMNO and BN, they must make important changes in order to gain that confidence and reputation especially for the next General Election in 2 years time.

For now for any major change to take place, changes must be done or implemented gradually in order for the objective to be accomplished or defined. Recapping the past, any major radical changes can either lead success or failure so it is best that for any change to take place in UMNO, it must be done properly, efficiently, diligently, and delicately.

With the vision 2020 which will be knocking our doorsteps in about 10 years plus from now, hey that is not sure it is coming closer really closer. For us to be successful and to be on part like any other developed or major economic power, we not only change the structure or embark on major scientific, civil projects, but our mindset needs to be ready for the change because our next generations to come will inherit what our forefathers have given to us.

As an admission, yes I am an UMNO youth member from Putrajaya and no doubt personally yes we must embrace change to get UMNO to be the party of relevance for the 21st century and the next century to come. It must not just be the umbrella for the Malays and other Bumis, but also to Malaysians as a whole. Let us make that UMNO not just the party that once feared and loved but also renowned for its kindness, hospitality, and good intentions.

Home Sweet Home!

Hey guys,

Back to the home country called Malaysia. Phew! finally after a long journey via flight, well I was back yesterday. Again, the effects of the jet lag is still around so still spinning a bit. Kinda interesting that going to the US was like long and tiring, but coming back to Malaysia was like kinda short in a way.

The flight back was just ok, but tiring. Couldn't get to sit at Business Class due to full capacity, so ended up at Economy, but again what matter is got the chance to go back home. Overall, food was okay, inflight entertainment was okay, cabin crew service was just okay. So it was just an okay flight, nothing special or worse to shout about.

Bagan Pinang;

BN finally won and defend their homefield. Well, now is a matter of proving to the public that it is prove to be worthy the next government to come. As for the Pakatan, they'll need to go back to the drawing board and look at themselves in the mirror first. Instead of blaming the election process, askem themselves what can they do to improve and win more hearts of the public.

Washington Redskins;
My favorite American Football team and they just suck man! They lost last weekend to another team which had a losing record. What do they do wrong, the chemistry is not working at all.

Hokies;
VT football is on the roll! They are kicking butts and hopefully will be in the top 3 in the College Football. Wish I was there to watch the games. Hokie, Hokie, Hi, Tech, Tech VPI, Solarek, Solarun.......yada yada yada.

Borders and stuff;
When I was back in the US, it was deja vu since spend most of my teenage life over there. Anyway, was walking wiz my wife; 'window shopping' so went to Borders. U know what really amazes me, their customer service. Yes, we were like walking around Borders and looking for a book and this guy just came up to us and assist us. He even went to the extend of finding the book and its recommended listings. Darn good service. Hate to say this being Malaysian, but man our Borders need some improvement. Not ruling out that there are those individuals who are helpful, but again the impression is what counts. Over in Malaysia, when you are at Borders, you ended up finding the guy and that guy is behind the counter pretending or just looking at the PC. In the US, their staff just walk around the store and finding customer who is in need of assistance instead of the other way around like in Malaysia. It is the 21st century, yes all about customer service. Good customer service bring good business to the stores! Isn't that right people!

Alright that is all for now.
Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the Stars! Some say!

Settling in!

Hey guys,

Today is Friday (US time), second last day here before going back to home sweek home!

1. President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize,
What a lucky dude, but again hey with his style it certainly has change the positiveness of the USA to the world unlike the Bush dude. He has opened up the political engagement and wilingness to listen and understand what actually the world think today and not assuming this is the way it ought to think. Again, all eyes are on him so surely he really needs to deliver and ensure that the global community is positive and warmth to the new America. Promises by him is one thing, but delivering it is another. Still early to say, he has anoter 3 years plus to go.

Politics aside, no doubt each and everyone of us have that 'American' in us, it doesn't necessariy mean to have the slang or just simply being brought up over there, but definitely we are influenced directly or indirectly of the 'American' ideas or beliefs. Our cloths, perfume, fashion, fast-food, movies, music,...etc...certainly state it all. You even have British singers or band singin' like an American......!

2. Bagan Pinang,

Politics in Malaysia certainly has gone to a huge spectrum of change since the 12th General Election, we have the PM Najib trying to get the 'silent majority' back to the BN fold. No doubt based from experts Bagan Pinang is a relatively strong UMNO stronghold, but again the Malaysian voters can be unpredictable. The voters today are pretty much know the real issues and how it will impact the generations to come. Who will win? That will be the Bagan Pinang folks destiny to decide.

Trip back to home is tomorrow (US Time), late Saturday evening flight. One thing for sure it is going to be another long trip. Well just have to get myself occupied with the inflight entertainment.

Till then keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars like some say!

TGIF!

Hey guys,

Finally back on the blog. Been a bit bz, but hey looking forward to the weekend.
Just to share a personal encounter on a Thursday evening. Nothing scary really, just something thot wanna share.
As I was stepping out of the car to go to the ATM machine (somewhere in Puchong), this guy came to me and beg for help. He asked whether I can borrow money. When I asked why, he was a former convict who was finally let go by the prison people. Well, at first I was hesitant and cautious about the whole thing, but after insisting to see the documents from the prison authority and his MYKAD, then I was finally convinced. So I decided to give him 10 bucks. Originally, he asked for 5 becos he wanted to top up his prepaid, but again somehow his begging do touch my heart that definitely strike my sympathy for him.
After giving him the money, then he asked for my number which I didn't bother to give but instead told the guy to be careful and stay out of trouble. He shakes my hand and wish selamat hari raya...and left...
Moral of the story, well it is nice to help someone who is really in need. Just hope that he will not turnout to be an ass nex time (oops, excuse my French!).
