And the Indonesian Maid saga Continues.....

Hey Folks,

bAck to blogging as one would say.

Yes, a nice Sunday here in Malaysia with bright sunlight and typical 25 degrees celsius to 30 degrees celsius temperature of a country close to the equator, what can what expect, Spring season in Malaysia...!  In my dreams!

Several days ago, majority of Malaysians were shocked and surprised and disgusted (to the maximum for me) that next month, we can only get Indonesians maids specifically for 4 dedicated and explicityly 4 chores as announced by their Director General.  First, for cooking, babysitting, taking care of the elderly, and housekeeping.  Based from the media reports; it seems like this if say I were to employ an Indonesian maid just for babysitting.  Then that maid's task is solely for babysitting and that is it.   Imagine, she will just babysit my son and will not do any other work like what a normally typical Indonesian maid used to do which 'multi-skilling'.

The best part was that we have to pay RM 700, which is the so-called new salary for the Indonesian Maid.  That is ridiculous especially when you get a maid who is only doing babysitting and nothing much and pay RM 700 per month.  That is really out of the question, why is the Indonesian Government being so unreasonable.  Like dahhh.

Remember back when the 2 leaders met (President Bambang and PM Najib) and have agreed to move forward in this 'maid' issue; everybody was relieved and at that time it was believed that the first batch of these maids will be arriving in December 2011, then it was postpone to January 2012, then it was postpone again to February, March, and now April....  Okay  something is really 'fishy' about this whole 'quagmire', the Malaysian government has been cooperative and accomodative to say at least to listen and cooperate with the Indonesian Government, but why are they (Indonesian Government) doing this back to us?

As highlighted by PM Najib, it was never been agreed in ref to this latest announcement by Indonesia.  Looks like this matter will still continues and who knows mayb after this we can just gradually forget about hiring Indonesian maids altogether and perhaps go for Filipino (which is pricey), Cambodians, or maybe Thais.  Or we just have to change our lifestyle and be independent and not have any maid at all.  Again; some folks may need maid due to reason that is beyond the reasonable doubt.

So folks, as Malaysians yes let us express our utmost disappointment with the Indonesian Government (not Indonesian People) for deceiving us.

Cheerios!!!
