Hey Folks,
Glad to be back to the world of blogging!
First of all my sincere and heartfelt Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri and Eid Mubarak to all Muslims. Yes it was definitely a joyous occasion everybody beside the food.
It was nice to catch up with relatives and friends and of course Hari Raya is celebrated a month long so be prepared for open houses and gaining of pounds....!
On another note, it was sweet surprise to learn that Ustaz Don has finally 'walked down the aisle'... Congratulations to the newled wed couple! May Allah blessed them both. Now that he is officially declared a 'husband', that is surely a new step is his episode of life. Whatever it is Ustaz Don has remarkably open up interest or renewed interest in Islam for Muslims (like me) and possibly some non-Muslims as well.
Anyway, this time around I will do my level best to contribute as much to this blogsite since it has been a hectic months......

Fasting Month...Ramadan in August
Hey Folks,
I am back again after a month and a half hiatus.......
Anyway, it is the 2nd day of August, so far so good.
With the fasting month of Ramadan, so far it has progressing smoothly.
Fasting month or Ramadan is the holiest month in the Islamic Calendar.
Normally this is where a Muslim will not just fast but also seek more closer or solace with God.
Unofficially, we have like 16 days until Eid Mubarak (AidilFitri), then like they say back to square one.
What is hot after the Ramadan, yes anyone's guess....the possibility of the 13th General Election......
Okidoke, time to ciao!

General Election in September!!??
Hey Folks,
Back to the world of blogging.
Yes, I have to admit...it was a hell buzy period for me especially coupla of weeks ago.
Anyway, still getting every citizens and netizens of this beloved country wonder when could be the next General Election.
Of course only PM Najib knows the date or his preference. All eyes and ears are awaiting for that big annoouncement.
Some say, it could be right after Hari Raya Aidilfitri....which is somewhere in September...... Speculation and guestimates is also pointing to September...
For sure the 13th General Election will become not just memorable, but sure full of excitement, drama, and not to mention possible (hopefully not) violence. We just hope that it will be a peacefule general election so that all the Malaysian that have registered to vote, can vote with a peace of mind.
If you have yet to register as a voter, do it NOW.

100th Show of 30 Minit Ustaz Don on TV Alhijrah!
Hey folks,
back to the world of blogging....
Yes, this coming 1st of May 2012 will not just be a public holiday thanks to 'Labour Day', but if you are strong fan or follower (just like me) of the hottest TV shows on TV Alhijrah called '30 Minit Ustaz Don', it will be the 100th show. It will be an hour show on that evening cause it is like 'special edition'.
Congratulations to Ustaz Don and his team, no doubt it is an early greeting of congratulatory, but this show is awesome!
Thanks to his show, after so many, many years, that I have finally managed to correct my 'solat' (prayer) and also reading the correct and proper pronounciation (Tajwid) of the Al-Quran.
If you are new or still curious to know what this show is all about, don't worry, go with an open mind and heart and check this cool show out. You will enjoy it.
What makes Ustaz Don different in comparison to the other Muslim scholars or Ustaz is simple; his 'down-to-earth' and interactive style of reaching to his television audience.
Otherwise as regular follower of this show, yes, it is from Monday to Thursday at 9:30 p.m. on TV Alhijrah.
Happy Viewing!

Animal Cruelty: 'Hit n Run'
Hey folks,
Something finally has struck me and thought of expressing it all out.
Nowadays u hear about the importance and reminder of road safety and being a good driver on the road and blah blah blah..
Okay, Malaysia has one of the best roads and not to mention highway system in the region or perhaps the world so that sort of motivate the driver to drive the best or the fastest.
What is sad is this, there have been a lot of dead animals or carcasses laying at the side, in the middle, or any part of road which is just simply visibile to the driver's windscreen.
Imagine you are driving on the road and it is a beautiful day and suddenly u just noticed a gruesome murder (in this case a possible accident) of a 'hit and run' victim which is normally in Malaysia can be a dead dog, cat, monkey (macaque), monitor lizard, wild boar, snakes, etc. It is sad, 90% from my observation is dogs here in Malaysia.
It is sad, u just wonder why on Earth are the driver doing this or is it that the animal just happen to be 'at the wrong place at the wrong time'. Did the driver purposely want to kill these poor creatures? Or the driver tried to avoid, but couldn't... A lot of possibilities and assumptions.
Well whatever it is fellow Malaysians or any fellow humans out there, if you are driving on the road, please practice caution and care because you can never know a dog or a cat or a monkey or any animal is just trying to cross the road to get to the other side. The animal deserves to live and not be another hopeless victim of 'hit and run'.

Register as a VOTER.....Malaysia General Election can be this year or next year...
Hey folks,
Back to the world of blogging....yes April is here....it is the 5th day of April and imagine with all the hoo haa about election after Chinese Year or in March.......yup it is still not in sight...
Again, it is the prerogative and pleasure of PM Najib to make the call. He will surely know when is the election going to be.
Lately, the Parlimentary Select Committee (PSC) has came out with 22 recommendations for the Election Commission (EC) to improve and target in order for the reform of the election process to take place.
In my opinion, it is a positive move and way forward for Malaysia to go greater heights especially in tackling and resolving the so-called controversial and everybody's or politicians favorite punching bag that is reforming of the EC and electoral process.
No doubt every citizens from the 'great political divide' can say so much about the electoral system of this beloved country, but again it the citizen 'voting' power' which will be the final determination which party will be in-charge of the country.
If you have yet to register to become a registered voter, better do it NOW than never. Just imagine even 1 small vote by you will make or trigger an impact to the country. Always remember that when election is coming near, the politicians (be it government or opposition) will be 'beggars' and crying for your votes. Of course with the begging will come with so many promises of change and betterment and blah blah blah.... Surely we will always go through with this cycle and it is not our Malaysia alone, but worldwide. I mean just watch the US Republican Primary and as usual the candidates are rambling on and on about what they can do for the future of America.
As expected, Bersih is not happy about the overall outcome of the PSC recommendations on the reforms and planning to stage 'BERSIH 3.0', but this time around a 'sit-in' protest.
Personally, it is good that the citizens to express one's displeasure over anything, but is it really necessary to have another demo? I think with the inflation and instability of the global economy, let us just take a break from any demonstration for now. Feeling angry yes go ahead, but do that when the General Election is happening soon (whenever that will be) and vote against the current government in power (Barisan Nasional). That is the purpose of election anyway, it is a change of power in the most peaceful and organized fashion that mankind can endure!
Again, who am I to advise, I am just a 'Malaysian Dude' trying to survive in this crazy and extraordinary jungle!

Now they say it is okay.....(The Indonesian Maid Saga)...
Hey folks,
It has been really confusing to say at least on the continuing issue relating to the MOU which was signed between Malaysian and Indonesia on domestic helper or maid from Indonesia.
Now the governments of both Malaysia and Indonesia is saying that it was just a miscommunication by the media which reported the 'One Maid...One Task'....
Both governments have said that it is still as per the MOU....okay that is cool to know, the next best thing to do now is we wait and see until the Indonesian maids arrive next month.
Hopefully, there won't be any confusion this time around especially everybody is just so eager to move on.
We cannot afford any longer to waste our time since this matter is way overdue. Ordinary folks still in need of maid surely wants to get it over with fast.

And the Indonesian Maid saga Continues.....
Hey Folks,
bAck to blogging as one would say.
Yes, a nice Sunday here in Malaysia with bright sunlight and typical 25 degrees celsius to 30 degrees celsius temperature of a country close to the equator, what can what expect, Spring season in Malaysia...! In my dreams!
Several days ago, majority of Malaysians were shocked and surprised and disgusted (to the maximum for me) that next month, we can only get Indonesians maids specifically for 4 dedicated and explicityly 4 chores as announced by their Director General. First, for cooking, babysitting, taking care of the elderly, and housekeeping. Based from the media reports; it seems like this if say I were to employ an Indonesian maid just for babysitting. Then that maid's task is solely for babysitting and that is it. Imagine, she will just babysit my son and will not do any other work like what a normally typical Indonesian maid used to do which 'multi-skilling'.
The best part was that we have to pay RM 700, which is the so-called new salary for the Indonesian Maid. That is ridiculous especially when you get a maid who is only doing babysitting and nothing much and pay RM 700 per month. That is really out of the question, why is the Indonesian Government being so unreasonable. Like dahhh.
Remember back when the 2 leaders met (President Bambang and PM Najib) and have agreed to move forward in this 'maid' issue; everybody was relieved and at that time it was believed that the first batch of these maids will be arriving in December 2011, then it was postpone to January 2012, then it was postpone again to February, March, and now April.... Okay something is really 'fishy' about this whole 'quagmire', the Malaysian government has been cooperative and accomodative to say at least to listen and cooperate with the Indonesian Government, but why are they (Indonesian Government) doing this back to us?
As highlighted by PM Najib, it was never been agreed in ref to this latest announcement by Indonesia. Looks like this matter will still continues and who knows mayb after this we can just gradually forget about hiring Indonesian maids altogether and perhaps go for Filipino (which is pricey), Cambodians, or maybe Thais. Or we just have to change our lifestyle and be independent and not have any maid at all. Again; some folks may need maid due to reason that is beyond the reasonable doubt.
So folks, as Malaysians yes let us express our utmost disappointment with the Indonesian Government (not Indonesian People) for deceiving us.
Cheerios!!!

Cold Blooded Murder!!
Hey Folks,
Back to the world of blogging...
Yesterday, almost everybody was surprised and saddened by the death of an innocent 5 years old girl by the name of Nurul Nadhirah Abdullah.
Earlier she was reported missing, but in the end it was known that her body (after DNA results) burned (charred remains) in the palm oil plantation.
This is EVIL! How could this happen? Who ever that 'bugger' or 'devil' is, that evil soul will pay for this...?
Al-Fatihah to her and may Allah blessed and put her in paradise.

No sign of General Election yet....
Hi Folks,
back to the world of blogging...
General Election no. 13??
Yes, last year there were so many predictions and assumptions that the election would be held right after the Chinese New Year.
As of today, PM Najib has yet to make his call. It seems he is going on the floor to gauge and feel and hear the voices of the 'rakyat' (citizens).
Of course, again it is the prerogative of the Prime Minister to decide and recommend for the dissolution of the Parliament.
The Opposition as usual lead by Anwar Ibrahim is hounding around and aiming for any weaknesses of the current government as a weapon to make the 'rakyat' think twice before giving BN another chance.
Nevertheless, it is still the 'rakyat' to determine what leadership and direction that they want.
If you have yet to register as a 'voter'. Do it NOW.

The Whitney I know....
Hey folks,
We were all shaken and shocked to know that one of the greatest legends ever in show biz has departed us forever. Yes we are talking about the one and only Whitney Houston.
First time I heard her songs were back in 1985, it was 'Greatest love of All'....and of course from that point on her name was so familiar that it really got me on the dancing streak with 'I wanna dance with Somebody' and 'How will I know'
She was definitely one of the great pop icons of the Eighties and early Nineties. No doubt there was a period that her career didn't went as well, but again hitting her old tracks is still something to recollect the good memories.....
Whitney, we will miss you for the cool and memorable songs that you have left us to enjoy and mesmerize!

Ustaz Don - 'Popular than the Minister'
Hey folks,
Just to keep you on the loop on what I did on Prophet Muhammad's birthday (5 February) , well both my wife and I decided to take a long drive about 70km to the TV Alhijrah event called 'Cinta Masjid' (Love the Mosque).
Well the 'Cinta Masjid' was a way for TV Alhijrah to form better and closer cooperation and relationship with the tv audience and this time it was held at 'Masjid Saidina Hamzah' at Kampung Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur. By looking at the overwhelming response from the public, no doubt there will be more to come later.
Anyway, what makes us go all the way to this place was simply our main man....Ustaz Don. Yup, we saw that there was going to be recording of his show and thot it would be a good idea to see the man in person.
Saw him for the first time, u definitely know that this guy definitely has the 'aura' and 'charisma' to take the audience away.
It was even interesting that before Ustaz Don came, the honorable Minister in the Prime Minister's department, Dato Seri Jamil Khir Baharom, informed the audience that Ustaz Don is even 'popular than the minister'.
The topic that was presented by Ustaz Don is focusing on our great prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him...

Al-Fatihah
Today (5 February) is a special day not only a public holiday for the whole of Malaysia and most of Muslim majority countries because it is Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) birthday.
Normally on this big day, special prayers and recitation is recited and read out to remember and love all that Prophet Muhammad has done for all Muslims.
Interestingly, Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) is also known as a great statesman, diplomat, general and this is also eveident in The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History by Michael H. Hart. What is surprising is that Michael Hart put Prophet Muhammad as the number 1 in the ranking of the most influential persons in History. Refer below the top 10 as mentioned by Michael Hart(courtesy of Wikipedia).

Al Hijrah TV: '30 Minit Ustaz Don' and 'Reflection'
Hey folks,
back to the world of blogging.... oh yes, it has been a while... bz wiz work.....of course...a belated HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! like dey say it is the the year of the DRAGON!
For the past year, I've been watching the new channel 'Islamic' based called 'Al Hijrah'. So far really enjoyed the shows and that it showed significant improvement from the first day it was launched back in 2011.
The shows that I really enjoy are '30 Minit Ustaz Don' and 'Reflection'.
30 Minit Ustaz Don:
First my insight of this show which is in 'Bahasa Malaysia' called '30 Minit Ustaz Don'. This show is hosted by Ustaz Don Danial Don Biyajid or better known by Ustaz Don.

Unlike 2011, this year the show format still sticks to the 30 minute segment, but it runs from Monday to Thursday starting at 10pm.
At the moment, for Mondays and Tuesdays, Ustaz Don focuses on 'Fiqh' which is the fundamental foundation of one's guidance in praying (solah), cleanliness (ablution) and for Wednesdays and Thursdays, he focuses on 'Tajwid' which is proper and correct way of pronouncing and reciting the 'Al Quran'.
What is unique about this show is the method of how Ustaz Don reached to the television audience as if he is really 'teaching' us on very personal one-to-one approach. In addition, with his 'hands-on' and practical approach which is a huge difference compare to the other religious tv shows in Malaysia which is the typical sermon-like preaching which one tends to switch to another channel if it gets really boring.
Not to mention, he is a young Ustaz so that makes it very attractive and hopefully more viewers to stick to the show.
Overall, the show is awesome and yes keep it up Ustaz Don you are the Man that keep reminding us the importance of Islam and our strong faith to Allah.
Reflection:
The next show is called 'Reflection' is hosted by well-known American Imam Suhaib Webb. I haven't heard of him until I watch Reflection.
Imagine, an American Muslim (who was previously a Christian) hosting this show and talking very concise detail about the verses (surahs) from the Al-Quran and its meaning and approach life. Despite his American accent which is 'cool', that is what makes it not only different than the other Islamic tv shows in Malaysia, but it is coming from an American and sometimes his talking style has the 'hip-hop' element but the Islamic way!
Frankly, I do have my respect of his abilities and well-found knowledge of Islam and that as a Muslim I am very impressed of this. I may not be a Imam or Ustaz, but Suhaib Webb definitely shows that from a person who was from a non-Islamic background to a well-know Imam, that is a truly significant milestone!
His sharing of knowledge of Al-Quran makes it really 'cool' for us to really appreciate, understand, and applies to our everyday way of life which is what really Islam is all about.
This show runs on Al Hijrah tv in Malaysia from Wednesdays to Fridays at 10:30pm.

Visit the Historical state of Melaka (Malacca)
Hi Folks,
Below is an article from one of our English dailies about the state of Malacca (Melaka). Yes it is surely a must visit place if you come to Malaysia as stated by the New York Times.
What is unique about the state of Melaka compare to the rest of states in Malaysia is that it has the colonial influence especially from the Portugues, Dutch, and British. Not only that it was once the seat of government of the great Empire of Melaka which dominated in the 14th and 15th Century before the invasion by the Portuguese.
Malacca among 45 ‘must-visit’ places
"KUALA LUMPUR: Malacca has been listed by influential The New York Times as one of the 45 places to visit this year.
“With its lantern-lighted canals and silent, narrow streets lined with decades-old ornate temples and shophouses, few places in South-East Asia conjure romantic images of the past as effectively as Malacca,” it said in a write-up which became its second most-read story of the day.
Under the heading “The 45 Places to Go in 2012”, it said that Malacca, as a Unesco World Heritage site, had been captivating “record numbers of tourists lured by its unusual architecture and cuisine, which reflect centuries of foreign influences”.
“When you’re not exploring places like the 17th-century former Dutch town hall or Jonker Street’s antique shops, gorge on Malacca’s outstanding local specialties, like creamy, piquant nyonya laksa at the family-run Donald & Lily’s.”
World heritage: According to ‘The New York Times’, Malacca offers tourists unusual architecture and cuisine which reflect centuries of foreign influences...."

Anwar Ibrahim Not Guilty!
Hi Folks,
Malaysian Opposition Leader, Anwar Ibrahim has been aquitted in the sodomy charges.
One thing for sure this is not the end yet...especially in the dramatic and soon-to-really-become-hot issue and that is the 13th General Election.
One can also conclude that from this not guilty verdict showed that the Malaysian Judiciary system is 'independent' of the executive branch or there was no influence from the 'higher up' authority as previously been assumed.
Despite that in Malaysia, we do not have a jury system (like in the US), it seems the Judge already made the decision based on all the facts and figures presented to him.
For PM Najib and Barisan Nasional (ruling party), they can say that the judiciary have made all the relevant decision without any intervention or interference from anyone and thus prove the independence of the judiciary system in this country. Moving forward, yes when is the election?
As for Anwar Ibrahim and his Pakatan Rakyat partners (Opposition), it is sure thing that their objective is to capture Putrajaya and try to break the record and hope to become the first opposition to win the federal government in Malaysia. Again, the onus is up to the fellow Malaysians.....he or she will only determine the government in power in the next General Election.
For now, sit back and enjoy the show...

ELVIS PRESLEY: My Tribute to the KING!
Hi Fellow Net Surfers/bloggers/citizens of Earth!
The 8th of January and if the King was alive he would be 77 years old. I am talking about the man who epitomize and bring rock music to the world, the one and only Elvis Presley.
Yes, I am a huge fan of the King. Do idolize him especially his music and his artistic contribution to the world.
Anyway enuf said, of course critics claim he didn't start rock n roll which is true. However, Elvis took out rock n roll and make it into a major music revolution which is in the end open up all the doors of other rockers such Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, and of course later the Beatles, Beach Boys, Led Zepellin, and plenty more. He basically showed the way or open up the 'avenue' for youth to start rocking.
Have to admit his sideburns were really the masterpiece especially if one watches the 'Elvis 68 Comeback Special'. That time the King was the man and he rule the music.
Oh well, long live the music of the King and may his legacies and memories linger on our minds forever!
Thankyouverymuch!

How I got into the 'you ain't nuthing but a hound dog' groove, tell me about it at that time I was in high school and it was during the alternative rock music era especially with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, SoundGarden, Blind Melon, R.E.M,.....we are talking about somewhere in the 1990s like 92-93-ish. Actually, thanks to my dad, he was like playing all the Elvis stuff and boom it just got into my head.

US Military: Going lean.....but maybe mean......
Hi Folks,
Based from the news as stated by US President Barack Obama, the powerful US military is going on a diet program! Yes, they are going lean....which means gradual cut down of resources and manpower.
Does that mean the US military influence globally is on the decline?
Not really, because again the Asia-Pacific region is once again the focal point of where the US military will be building or basically putting their noses in. Some say is this really necessary...?
Well, right now in Asia, People's Republic of China has the biggest military resources and manpower (largest troops in the world) in Asia and second place is India... Not to mention, today in the Asia-Pacific region, the economic vibrancy is moving and of course most of the world's important resources are here beside the Middle East.
For sure the unsolve issue of the 'the Spratly' is yet to be resolved and with China's declaration of the South China Sea as part of their maritime claim which cause uneasiness especially to countries like Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Philippines. It is believed or said that there is huge reserve of petroluem in the 'the Spratly' and of course the smell of oil and gas is something which is familiar can lead to conflict and worst military aggression (1991 Gulf War).
Well whatever it is, the US military presence in the Asia Pacific realm is 'disturbing' for China, but again under the administration of Barack Obama unlike his hawkish predecessor, George W. Bush, the US will surely warrants for more dialogue and peaceful/diplomatic engagment than the infamous unilateral military action like what happened to Iraq. Hopefully that will be the way....

The first week of Jan 2012.....la la la la life goes on..
Hi Folks,
As usual, the first week of January 2012 is the beginning of the school year..... For the first few days it was not only that the children went back to school, but also the parents.
This year not yet for me since my junior will go next year and yes I will get my taste of the parents first day in school in 2013....who bundle of joyness.....!
The Anwar Verdict
Beside the first day of school debut, yes next week on the 9th January is the High Court verdict as to whether Malaysian former DPM and current Opposition Supremo, Anwar Ibrahim is guilty or innocent of the sodomy charges.
In Malaysia, we do not have a jury system, but all the verdict and sentencing is by the Judge. This is based on both of the facts and figures as presented by both the prosecution and defence.
If Anwar if guilty, then the Opposition coalition known as 'Pakatan Rakyat' will have to go for a second leader in command to lead in the next 13th Malaysian General Election which will be...anybody's guess...??
If he is innoncent, then the battle of Putrajaya will take place and just a matter of time when PM Najib will make the call for the dissolution of parliament and state assemblies.
Things are just getting to be hotter than it was over here.......i mean the weather......! (sigh)...

Yup, mentioned many times last year and now it is for real.....welcome 2012...
Looking forward to a brand new year....with of course lots of things to accomplish and achieve.
In Malaysia, there are just so much things that one of the most awaited topic is the 13th General Election.
It is not due before April 2013, but again like most political experts say it could happened this year....
Of course, for majority of Malaysians the right to vote is not automatic since one must register first a voter.
If you have not, then go out and register NOW. To do it, you can simply go to the nearest Election Commission office or even the post office. For more information, log into the Election Commission website, http://www.spr.gov.my/.

Election Commission (SPR) |
This election is gonna be one of the most exciting and yet crude and nasty and dirty and mudslinging and the typical politically rhetoric attack that will just amused and gain attention of everyone be it in Malaysia and International. It will a be an all out battle or war for both the current government of PM Najib (Barisan Nasional) versus the Opposition lead by former DPM Anwar Ibrahim together with 3 parties combining to become Pakatan Rakyat. Of course 9 January 2012 is an important which will determine as to whether Anwar Ibrahim will be innocent or guilty and that may have some affect of the direction of the so-called possible 13th General Election. Well, whatever it is, PM Najib has the prerogative to decide when to make the call for the election....

Redskins lose to Eagles.....sucks! farewell to the 2011 season
Hi Folks,
Yes, the title speaks for itself....the 'Skins lost to the Eagles.....and it was not even a close game..... Thot we can stopped them from getting 8-8 record, but settle again for a loss especially final 2011 season game.
Moving forward, the Redskins need to do a lot of improvement and hopefully from the 2011 poor performance, they can change that for the better in the 2012 season.
Well, as a loyal fan of the Washington Redskins, they can do it, but only time will tell when that will happen.
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS.
